Freshwater: Bir Komedi (KA Atölye)
Woolf Arts Archive
Staged Reading
25 January, 2025
Ankara, Turkey
Parallel to the ongoing photography exhibition celebrating darkness and night, Good morning, I’m off to bed! at Ka: Space for Visual Culture & Artistic Thinking, Woolf Arts Archive performed a staged reading of Virginia Woolf's only play, Freshwater: A Comedy. Directed by Mine Özyurt Kılıç, this site-specific reading was followed by a discussion of the play and its themes aligned with those of the exhibition. #Woolf143 special event marked the legacy of Virginia Woolf's great aunt, Mary Margaret Cameron, a photographer cherishing experimentalism to adorn her neighbour Alfred Lord Tennyson's poems with images, which paved the way for the Bloomsbury Group and Bloomsbury art.
